                   PROPAGATION PREDICTIONS TO SELECTED DX
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This displays openings by band to 20 selected targets from
a single QTH you designate and under a date, UTC, and conditions
         you enter.

The chart gives three numbers for each band for each DX
target. The middle number is for the indicated time. The left
one is for an hour earlier. The right one is for an hour later.
The indicated time can be either the current real time or any
         other time you input.

Signal strength is shown by the numbers themselves, which
range from 1 to 9. Any number above 5 is a good signal. An 1 or
2 is probably too weak to hear in normal noise. In between is
marginal. The numbers do not necessarily correspond to S units.
A hyphen means no opening at all.

Signal reliability is indicated by the color of the
signal strength. Gray indicates 50-50 reliability whereas bright
white is more reliable. A 50-50 reliability means that the signal
is very close to piercing the F layer or to being shielded by the
        E layer.

Occasionally, the color will be yellow. This
indicates the presence of either true chordal or near-chordal
propagation, a circumstance that improves the signal strength.
If any significant chordal propagation is detected, then
yellow trumps any other color that would otherwise be printed.
The yellow number then printed is adjusted to reflect
         the improved signal strength.

All indications are short path unless you use the F4
key to toggle to long path.
